Autumn &Winter Classes 2020/21
All classes will be run with appropriate social distancing and in line with Covid- 19 guidelines including the wearing of masks. The health and safety of our patrons and tutors is of the utmost importance. Please note that due to ongoing changes to Covid-19 restrictions classes and courses may be postponed or cancelled at short notice.
Tutor – Kate Murtagh Sheridan, Ceramic Artist.
Beginner, Intermediate/Advanced classes available.
€160 for 6 week course, 1 day per week for 6 consecutive weeks.
NOTE BOOKING ESSENTIAL.
Learn ceramics skills and techniques in a relaxed and fun atmosphere with professional ceramic artist Kate Murtagh Sheridan.
The 6 week course will cover a range of techniques and help develop progress and build confidence within the craft.
Kate will help Improve your skills and develop your ideas . You can enhance your clay techniques such as throwing on the wheel, slab building, coiling, texture and colour application.
The classes will be restricted to six persons per class to ensure the safety of patrons and tutors.
The cost of the 6 week course course is €160 this includes all materials, clay, glazes and firing of finished works.
Social distancing will be observed. Participants are asked to wear face masks, tutors will wear masks. Hand sanitisers will be available in the studio and participants should bring their own apron.
Contact details will be collected to facilitate tracing.
Refreshments will be provided from disposable cups or bring your own mug.
The Portfolio Course can be booked now and a start date will be confirmed when easing of Covid-19 restrictions permit.
This Portfolio course at Leitrim School of Art is a high quality course delivered by tutors with an excellent success rate in students achieving access to art schools in Ireland, and the UK.
Stained Glass Workshops, Tutor – Emer O’Donnell, Glass Artist.
The Stained Glass Workshops on the dates shown below have been cancelled . These workshops will be rescheduled and advertised when Covid-19 restrictions allow the classes to commence.
An opportunity to learn how to create stained glass work. This is a six week course, two hours per week. There is an option of Friday afternoon 2.00 pm – 4.00 pm or Friday evening 7.00 pm – 9.00 pm. All materials are supplied.
Adult & Child Art Class
The Adult and Child Art Classes on the dates shown below have been cancelled . These classes will be rescheduled and advertised when Covid-19 restrictions allow the classes to commence.
An opportunity to learn arts and crafts together. This is a four week course beginning Saturday 11th April. 2.30 pm – 4.00 pm.
The Easter Animation Classes are cancelled due to Covid – 19 restrictions. Animation Classes will be recheduled when restrictions are eased.
An introduction to the magic of animation. Learn how to design storyboards, create characters, sets and props, photograph and edit your very own animations. All animations made in class will be available to watch online via Leitrim Art School YouTube Channel. COME AND HAVE LOTS OF FUN. 10 00 am – 11.30 am
The Life Drawing Classes are cancelled due to Covid – 19 restrictions. Life Drawing will be recheduled when restrictions are eased.
Life Drawing now available at Leitrim School of Art. This course will run on Thursday Evenings for 8 weeks beginning on the 2nd April to 21st May. The course will be tutored by a qualified professional. The course is suitable for beginner to advanced level. Basic art materials are supplied.
Photography Course for 12 – 16 year old After school on Thursday 4.30pm – 6.00pm
Photography Courses are cancelled due to Covid-19 restrictions. These courses will be rescheduled and advertised when Covid -19 restrictions are eased and it is safe to resume classes.
This 6 session Course will cover a range of photography techniques in creating your own great photographs as well as learning about editing your work. Please bring along your own camera or a phone.
Adult Pottery Class Thursday Evening 7 – 9 pm
Adult Pottery Class cancelled due to Covid-19 Restrictions. These classes will be rescheduled and advertised when restrictions are lifted and it is safe to resume classes
This is a six week Thursday evening course starts on March 26th through to 30th April from 7 – 9 pm. Slip casting, pinching, coiling, slabbing, throwing techniques explored to produce finished pieces.

Other courses being developed, subject to approval are a one year QQI Level course in Arts Crafts and Design, a foundation arts and design course suitable for progressing to higher education or using as a stand-alone qualification.
