More Than an Art School

At Leitrim School of Art, we believe creativity belongs to everyone.

From our purpose-built studios at The Junction in Ballinamore, we’ve created a welcoming creative community where children, adults, complete beginners and experienced makers can all discover the joy of creating.

Whether you’re learning a new skill, returning to a favourite hobby or simply looking for a creative escape from the demands of everyday life, you’ll find inspiring tutors, small supportive classes and an encouraging environment where everyone is welcome.

Our studios are more than just places to learn. They’re permanent creative spaces where people come together to explore ideas, build confidence, make friends and enjoy the satisfaction of creating something with their own hands.

Throughout the year we offer a wide range of classes and workshops, including ceramics, creative writing, drawing, jewellery, painting, photography, stained glass, willow basket weaving, Italian language and culture and many more. New workshops are introduced regularly, giving people the opportunity to discover new creative interests throughout the year.

Our four-week courses and one-day workshops are carefully designed to keep class sizes small, ensuring every participant receives individual guidance, encouragement and support from experienced tutors.

Our studios are a creative hub for people from across County Leitrim and beyond. Throughout the year we welcome individuals, families, schools, community groups, businesses and organisations to experience inspiring creative sessions in a purpose-built environment designed to encourage learning, collaboration and artistic discovery. We also deliver selected outreach projects where creativity can make a lasting difference within the wider community.

Young people are at the heart of our creative community too. Our children’s and teen classes provide a fun, supportive environment where imagination can flourish, while our Easter, Summer and Halloween camps give children the opportunity to learn new skills, make friends and enjoy the freedom of creative expression during the school holidays.
