Art Portfolio Preparation Course
About the course
This Portfolio course at Leitrim School of Art is a high quality course delivered by tutors with an excellent success rate in students achieving access to art schools in Ireland, and the UK.
The course provides students with an opportunity to work to a level equivalent to first year undergraduate Art School courses, or in developing skills as a working artist, and for those seeking employment in the creative sector.
The course runs two days per week over a 24-week period. It begins in early September and continues to March finishing just prior to Art School interview dates. (further information and expressions of interest see below)

Students explore ideas through sketchbooks, documenting and recording ideas that follow their thought processes. Students are encouraged to explore ideas through a number of processes like drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, jewellery, fashion, textiles, graphic design, product design, architecture, digital photography and image manipulation, and an introduction to film making and animation. Students are encouraged to sign up to life drawing classes offered throughout the year.
The Portfolio course runs from October – April,
24 weeks – 144 hours tuition is €800
Basic art materials are supplied on the course.
